Data Export

Export your data from Simplify Commerce to other applications

You can download your data in CSV format or in Open Financial Exchange (OFX) format, which can then be imported into other financial applications.

Exporting CSV Data

Payment, deposit and customer data can be exported as CSV files.

  1. Go to the Data Export tab on the account settings page.
  2. Select the data content and the date range for the period you wish to download.
  3. Click on the Download File button to download the CSV, which can be saved to your local disk.

Exporting an OFX Account Statement

The Simplify Commerce payments account is modeled as a checking bank account where each payment is a credit, and refunds, fees & transfers to your bank account are debits.

  1. Go to the Data Export tab on the account settings page.
  2. Select the date range for the period you wish to download.
  3. Select the format for your download. Two formats are supported: the XML-based OFX version 2.1 and the older SGML-based OFX version 1.0. The one you choose will depend on your financial software package. Please refer to its documentation for more details
  4. Click on the Download File button to download the OFX statement, which can be saved to your local disk.
  5. The downloaded OFX file may now be imported into your financial package.

Importing into Quicken

With Quicken it is best to use the older OFX version 1.0.* format, though some versions of Quicken do support the newer OFX 2.1.* versions.

To import the OFX statement, use the Quicken import wizard to select the downloaded OFX file. The first time a statement is imported, Quicken will prompt you to create a new checking account. For subsequent imports the account is selected automatically.

Note: When importing for the OFX statement for the first time you may need to adjust the Opening balance adjustment to reflect the correct account opening balance
